Jonathan Reyes

Born in Oaxaca de Júarez in 1993, Jonathan has shown an innate interest for literature and the arts since his childhood. In 2011, he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UABJO, where he successfully completed his bachelor’s degree in Plastic and Visual Arts. His career includes giving workshops in various spaces within the City of Oaxaca. In addition, he has exhibited his work both in individually and collectively in recognized spaces in Oaxaca, Mexico City, The Hague (Netherlands) and El Paso, Texas. His artistic work is made up of pieces that use various techniques, such as graphics, painting and calligraphy. His creations explore themes ranging from life and death to wildlife and Mexican traditions. These themes represent a deep personal interest for the artist,
who incorporates them from their own imagination to give life to their visual expression. Through experimentation with different materials, seeks to convey their feelings and reflections on these issues, thus generating a visual discourse in its constant evolution.
